I placed an order for a car and only discovered two months later that the model had been discontinued. I appreciated being offered the new version of the car at the original, lower price, but the overall experience has been extremely disappointing.
First, there was significant miscommunication—and at times no communication at all—leading up to this offer. I was not offered to test-drive the replacement vehicle at first or provided with any details about it; I was simply informed that this would now be my order. Although Jake and Abs were polite and helpful, the process as a whole felt disorganised and chaotic. I was initially told that all documentation could be completed online, yet I was subsequently called into the garage twice to handle paperwork in person.
The last visit was particularly frustrating. I had been assured that the car would be delivered to my home, only to receive a call 15 minutes before the agreed-upon delivery time asking me to come and collect it instead because it would “be easier for paperwork.” This raised the question of why such issues weren’t considered earlier. When we arrived, we were informed that the main reason was that the dealership had only just realised that we lived an hour away—again, something that clearly should have been known before promising delivery. A car was sent to pick us up, which might have been appreciated had it not been necessitated by the dealership’s own oversight.
Finally, after an already disappointing experience, the business manager asked me to leave a review, adding a comment implying that the lift they arranged should be taken into account—as though it were a courtesy rather than a remedy to an inconvenience they created.
Overall, the experience fell well below the standard I expected. This was also my first time buying a car—and my first car in general—so it’s particularly disappointing that the experience was so poor.
